At the front and side of the top, two 360mm wide vices offer clamping capacities of 125mm and both vices run on precision machined, steel Acme screw threads. The movement of these vices is incredibly smooth and rapid. Each wooden jaw features two dog holes for extra wide table top clamping. Made from solid sections of beech, the legstand is incredibly sturdy and features a 995mm x 350mm shelf for storing tools and materials.
The quality of this bench is impressive. Supplied flat packed, takes 30-45 mins to assemble and is supplied with four bench dogs. Weight 50kg. ©
Please Note: This workbench is made from kiln dried, unfinished beech, the full bench including top, legs and bottom, needs to be sealed to protect it from damp and other environmental factors. We recommend Osmo Top Oil, Hardwax Oil or Door Oil as it nourishes the wood and protects it from moisture but also allows it to breathe.

Lovely, weighty piece, feels very high quality. Enjoyed putting it together, though as another has already said be careful, the instructions could be clearer. One more coat of oil to apply, it looks and feels fabulous, though I will be lifting the legs to give me another couple of inches.

Wow! Wasn't expecting this level of quality for the price. This bench is all beech and as solid as a rock. I have to admit, I've been looking for flaws at this price, but even the vices work perfectly. Thank you Rutlands, my new bench is perfect.
Have just finished assembling this five star bench and oiling it as recommended. Apart from a little transport jack in the one corner, all went fast and well. It is a very sturdy bench and 100 pounds cheaper than the Swedish Sjoberg, which is a little shorter, but otherwise, I don't see the big difference. Very good value I think. Very pleased with finally having a real bench . Maybe I will build a cupboard under, but I kind of like the open shell, so one can overlook the tools
A great bench, well made at a sensible price, can't beat having the right tool for job. Only one small thing in that the flat pack was short of some of the screws, not a big issue.
