This bench grinder sharpening jig is designed for use with 150mm and 200mm bench grinders. It is primarily an upgrade on the poor tool rests that are supplied with bench grinders and allows greater accuracy in the angles when grinding a tool's bevel. Tools can be rested on a 100mm wide platform for more freehand sharpening, or a tool clamp is provided that runs in a smooth frictionless t track to ensure grinding is square and even. The platform can be positioned at virtually any point in relation to the grinder due to the two pivoting points, as well as it being able to move back and forth. There are four screw holes in the base of the jig that are used to secure it to your workbench or tabletop.

The jig has been machined from aircraft aluminium and beautifully finished with a black anodisation to make it easy on the eye but also hardwearing and durable. ©

Crafty little gadget

Not only great for holding tools at the right angle but used as a leveller on my bench top too. Quick and handy for assorts of jobs. Even holds my clip board at the right angle for me to read. Nice.

Nicely made

I had been wanting ne of these for a while. I thought the Veritas version was too expensive so I looked at Rutlands versions. This one seemed resonable, but before I got around to it I found it on special 10% discount offer and jumped at the chance to buy it. I think it is nicely made and will do the job well, far better than th bent tin ones usually supplied with grinders.

Solid support base.

This is a strong sturdy base that can be adjusted to provide stable angles for benefit of accurate sharpening. I look forward to better finish using sharper tools.
