FULL DESCRIPTION
This bench grinder sharpening jig is designed for use with 150mm and 200mm bench grinders. It is primarily an upgrade on the poor tool rests that are supplied with bench grinders and allows greater accuracy in the angles when grinding a tool's bevel. Tools can be rested on a 100mm wide platform for more freehand sharpening, or a tool clamp is provided that runs in a smooth frictionless t track to ensure grinding is square and even. The platform can be positioned at virtually any point in relation to the grinder due to the two pivoting points, as well as it being able to move back and forth. There are four screw holes in the base of the jig that are used to secure it to your workbench or tabletop.

The jig has been machined from aircraft aluminium and beautifully finished with a black anodisation to make it easy on the eye but also hardwearing and durable. ©

What an excellent addition

Never been able to get the angle or the sharpness on my chisels. This is the dogs' (even with a cheap bench grinder). Very easy to set up

Brilliant piece of kit

I finally decided to purchase this grinding jig after years of sharpening by hand which was quite hard work and my chisels were not great really just ok and it took a lot of time to keeping it square but now I have this square edge is easy and spot on. I have my grinder set up on a board with a stop where I slide jig up to screw it into place set up the correct angle chisel clamped in place and slide the jig left to right and this just makes this task so easy and I swap the jig to the other side of the grinder to put the micro bevel on and then just fettle on a stone to a very sharp square chisel or plane blade. This jig is great value and guaranteed . I say treat yourself to one

EXCELLENT USED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME THE DAY IT ARRIVE. IT HELP ME SQUARE A DAMAGED CHISEL. ON MY RUTLAND WET STONE SHARPENER HOMED IT ON 2000 STONE AND POLISHED IT TO MY STOP.

I had previously hand grinded both primary and

I had previously hand grinded both primary and micro bevels by hand but doing the primary bevel took the longest. I was using diamond plates but even so, it still took ages to finish. I decided to purchase a jig to me assist in grinding the primary bevel. I reviewed several similar items but decided on the Rutlands jig as it offers a lifetime guarantee, precision engineering and looked professional and well built. I was not disappointed.It needs to be set up on a board that has the space to swap the jig from rough grind to finishing grind wheel. Once the jig is set up, it was easy to maintain a consistent grinding angle for the primary bevel at a fraction of the time I used take . I then finished off with a micro bevel using my diamond plates.I would recommend this to anyone who has doubts whether they can hold a a blade at the correct sharpen/grind angle using other grinding methods.. Well worth the money
