Woodturning Lathe Stand

Brilliant piece of kit. Extremely well engineered and straightforward to assemble. It forms a very stable base and the fine adjustment facility means that it can be used with a large variety of commercially available lathes so that our turning can be completed in comfort and safely.

Well made and easy put together and fit my lathe perfectly, would recommend.

I have just purchased this lathe stand as my work bench that I have been using is well past it's sell by date.The stand is perfect, as the height can be adjusted exactly to your preference height. Built solid and so tough it would hold just about any lathe. I have total confidence with this stand for my AT350WL 1416 woodturning lathe.Great job Rutlands!

I was looking for a stand that would take my old Tyme lathe that I have owned from new. The lathe is still good with no wear in the headstock bearings, so I could not justify replacing it at the moment. Previously I have used a home-made wooden bench but this was taking up too much room in the workshop. Trying to match up old machinery with new accessories is often difficult ,especially as I had originally opted for a long bed on the lathe for spindle turning. As a result I was delighted to see this stand has the optional extension to take the elongated bed which I also purchased The quality of the build is outstanding with very heavy grade steel. The machining is very accurate and as a result is a very stable stand which does not move when the wood is out of balance. The feet are adjustable to account for inaccuracies in the floor and their synthetic rubber nature absorb any vibration. The pre-drilled holes to mount the lathe lined up easily but I did have one extra hole to drill for the headstock because one of the mounts on the Tyme lathe is asymmetric. In particular I like the fact that this stand is height adjustable and I have set it higher than my original bench making wood turning much more comfortable for my ageing back .If I decide to opt for the excellent new Rutland lathe in the future I know that I now have a stand that will fit this as well . This is the best £200 I have spent on equipment for my wood working workshop.

Wow, really heavy duty and well built. Slight scuffs to the paintwork but apart from that very easy to assemble and rock solid in use. The adjustment holes allow you to sit the lathe at the correct working height. I previously had my lathe sat on a bench and did not realise until i set this new stand up that i was actually have to bend to turn. Now i don't have to arch and I think my working position is mush better. Took about 45 minutes to fully assemble, having realised that i put the leg feet the wrong way around. Should have read the instructions. Overall a very good stand that will outlast me.
