FULL DESCRIPTION
Workshop vices are often referred to as engineers or mechanics vice and are designed for the clamping of ferrous and non ferrous metals, copper and steel pipe, aluminium and stainless steel sheet and for general work holding applications.

This workshop vice is cast, machined and assembled by the world's leading and largest vice manufacturer, who have been established since 1950. The body of the vice is precision CNC machined from solid grey iron castings, a material recognised for its wear resistance and high compressive strength and has a class leading clamping force of 15000N for assured work holding.

The main screw has a fast action Acme thread that is fully protected from dirt and debris, preventing swarf from becoming trapped between the main screw and the cast steel nut. The replaceable 100mm wide vice jaws are made from a hardened tool steel and have machined serrated faces for a non slip grip of the workpiece. At the rear, the vice features an anvil, providing a striking surface for a variety of functions. Fully opened the vice has a clamping capacity of 75mm. ©

Can't speak for the anvil as I've not used it yet but the rest of the vice is excellent. feels solid and well made and the serrated jaws provide a really grippy surface. for the price I paid I'm very happy

Arrived exactly as pictured and described, looking and feeling like a vice costing twice as much. Managed to hold everything I've thrown at it so far, from light DIY work to slightly more heavy duty tasks. Anvil provides a good flat surface for hammering instead of damaging my bench!

Bought 6 of these for a school workshop, they are great value and do the job superbly. Would definitely recommend these vices for small to medium work. We use them for making mild steel sporting figures to silversmithing ( with the appropriate vice guard) and they work in all these situations.

Much smaller than expected...

Much smaller than expected. I did not look at the overall length but was comparing the jaw width to an existing vice. Looks decent enough and with Rutland stating it is manufactured by the leading and largest manufacturer, it is expected that this will be a good vice that will last many years.
