The cast iron heads measure 50mm x 42mm and are fractionally back tapered at 90 degrees to the bar to ensure maximum clamping force is exerted without slipping. These clamps are solid and well made at a very competitive price. Very fast delivery and well packaged.
I needed a clamp for a jig I was building. After an extensive search online, I rejected most bar clamps since they don't have a natural way of fixing them to a jig. These sash heads are perfect since I can bolt them to the jig in multiple places. Also when not needed for the jig, I can unbolt them from the jig and use them as normal sash clamps. Plus at £50 for four sets they are a very cost effective and flexible capability for my workshop.
This is a great value set of heads to make 4 sash clamps. Much lighter to use than my 4 big pipe clamps and a lot cheaper than parallel clamps. Perfect for my needs.
