Digital Calipers

I do a lot of CNC wood inlay work with various woods around 3mm thick where to achieve a high standard of inlay fit and to reduce the amount of cutting time and subsequent sanding I need to accurately know the thickness of the inlay material and more importantly the actual diameter of the cutting mill. Errors on the latter will make the inlay too small and the pocket to big or visa versa. I have always in the past bought very cheap lightweight Digital Calipers from all the usual cheap places and probably had to replace them once a year because of random shutdowns, self resetting zero or when they developed a life of their own measurement and display wise. This Rutland Digital Caliper is a great piece of kit which feels more solid and good in the hand while operating smoothly. Those attributes and its high level of precision and accuracy suggest I will be using the calipers, backed up with Rutlands 3 year warranty, for many years to come.

The digital calipers are a good purchase being in all metal and using them in wood turning you don't have the problem of the plastic legs wearing away.benefits of these ones are whichever school you were in either the imperial or the metric systems, both are catered for in this set - so no arguments as to "I can't use them as they don't have the metric or the imperial system marked on or in the digital scaling, it is all there". Good value for money, as long as they are not kept out in the cold storage the battery will last longer. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Nice quality callipers at a very good price. Feel well constructed and very easy to use. Essential workshop tool for measuring and tool calibration. Recommended.

This is an excellent product and so much more precise that using callipers as you can hold the work with one hand and measure with the other. Brilliant.
