Product Details

TCT Router Bits
Each router bit features diamond ground, micro-grain tungsten carbide tipped blades. This tighter micro-grain structure means the blades offer long lasting hardness and superior edge retention. The body of each bit has been turned and then milled with uncompromising precision from a single piece of 4140 high tensile steel to give perfect balance for reduced vibration and therefore smoother cuts. 4140 steel has been chosen because of its toughness, high fatigue strength, and abrasion and impact resistance. The tungsten carbide tips are then brazed onto the bodies using induction to create an extremely strong joint that safely holds under the high stresses that occur when routing. The router bits are suitable for use on softwoods, hardwoods, veneers, laminates and composite materials.

Rabbeting with Bearing Bits
Rabbeting with bearing bits are used to produce fast and accurate rebates on the edges of material. 6 interchangeable bearing guides are supplied, allowing the bits to follow straight and shaped workpieces. Bearing guides should be selected according to the width of rebate required. These bits are typically used for joint making, recessing the back of frames for accepting glass, and producing inset door, drawer and cabinet fronts.

Superior Finish and Performance
The shearing angle of the cutting edges ensure they remain in constant contact with the workpiece to allow a smoother, slicing cut which eliminates tear-out and gives a mirror finish. The bits feature right hook angles which further enhances the cut due to the fast removal of chips. These bits feature an anti-kickback design which limits the feed rate of the material being cut to decrease the likelihood of a kickback, meaning each bit conforms to strict German DIN standards to ensure maximum operator safety. Each router bit features a lifetime warranty, if any bit fails due to a materials or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge. ©

Mark Poyner

A superp set used in my table run as sweet as a die and having the differant bearings make depth setting a snap. I use a straight edge to set my fence to the bearing as a fence gives better results than a bearing but it is so quick to do and no measuring. Used to cut the tongue on hard wood tongue and grove as it is so much more robust than a slot cutter.

Gavin White

A handy set that makes cutting rebates of various sizes easy. Cutter is of good quality and bearings can be switched to other tornado cutters as needed.

Atte Pitkänen

Good quality set of rabbet bits; no missing pieces. Alltogether no cons.

David Sullivan

As ever a great product well made and fantastic service from Rutland's

Anthony Atkins

Good quality product that saves having various sized rebate bits.
Well done Rutland yet again
