These exceptional parallel jaw clamps are the best we have ever tested. The jaws are guaranteed parallel and will always be at a constant 90° angle with the bar during use to maintain the squareness of the object being clamped. The large surface area of the jaws allow the clamps to be used in different ways to F clamps, such as clamping along the length of the jaw or behind the rail. Clamping force is equally distributed by the jaws which eliminates the crushing of timber fibres.
The clamps have an anti slip system which means that no matter how much pressure is exerted, the jaws will not slip on the bar and slide backward. A foot at the non working end of the bar allows for the clamp to stand upright un-aided making it ideal for clamping flat panels. The large acme screw thread ensures maximum clamping pressure is achieved with the minimum number of turns of the handle.
The extra large jaws allow for the use of fewer clamps and are extremely beneficial when clamping large, flat workpieces. The jaws are made from ductile cast iron and are encased in glue resistant polypropylene, the no mar protection pads can be removed to aid the removal of dried glue. The 29mm wide rail is made from I section C45 hardened steel to prevent the clamp from bending or flexing under load.

Just purchased my second lot of four. They are excellent for all my clamping needs, are very accurate at keeping projects square and true and the square ends do not leave marks. They are free standing and easy to operate one handed. If you buy these try to protect the bars from glue or you might reduce how easy they slide. I use grease proof paper. Excellent service from Rutlands, as usual, highly recommended.

Great quality and easy to use perfect for glueing up panels much easier than using the array of different clamps in my arsenal. Worth ordering the storage unit as they are large and cumbersome if not stored appropriately they will get in your way (voice of experience!!)

Word of warning, always leave the threaded head wound in a couple of turns, if the sliding head then slides down the bar to the fixed head you have a couple of turns to release the pressure on the head & allow the sliding head to be slid back.

These are great parallel bar clamps, Im a time served bench joiner/ cabinet maker and i should have had these years ago ! Work pieces clamp very flat reducing the chance of twist on your job, you can stand the job on end on the floor whilst its going off ! Great the only thing i can give as a negative is that you have to be careful not to take the plastic bar spacers off and let the clamping jaws close as they are a pain to seperate !! Great value much better than plastic clamps or blue sash clamps !!!

These are now the best clamps I have, and I have many. They are big and solid with a great clamping force and they don't slide about when you move them, the head stays put. Until you want to move it of course and then it glides along nicely. Fantastic for the price. Will definitely be buying more.

Like with most purchases l have made with Rutlands these are of a very good quality and the clamping force of them are great. I am a professional carpenter making bespoke Victorian cabinetry so only use tools that are upto the job. Well done Rutlands on another great tool of the trade. I agree with the other comments about their build quality, very solid and I am sure they will provide me with a very stable clamping platform; looking forward to using them. Having looked around at other similar products they represent extremely good value. Rutlands have a habit putting great products on special offer and this was one such occasion. I am not a professional carpenter and am self taught but consider myself a serious amateur looking to produce quality work so good tools are of great importance to me as is value for money. I have yet to be disappointed with anything purchased from Rutlands. Oh as for the 4 stars instead of 5?...I cannot justify awarding 5 as I have yet to use them.

I'm making shelves for a barbers shop.
These clamps can achieve great force, more than is actually required if totally honest, they keep the work piece flat and true while you clamp up also.
I've had loads of sash clamps in the past and they all tend to bow the work piece In some manner I found, it hasn't happened yet with theses clamps.
I'm going to be buying loads more at all the sizes available as they are that good.
Don't let thr price put you off! You won't regret buying these!!!

These are of a very high standard and if you regularly deal with panels or framework then go for it. I like the new redesign compared to my old green rutlands clamps. The handle is very comfortable to use and the overall quality feels top notch

I got 2 packs of these after getting 3 packs of the malleable f clamps from Rutland's which I was amazed with so had the confidence to splurge on these and again was amazed. I would as a furniture maker for a luxury yacht company and we have put these to test against other more well known parallel jaw clamps and they are simply indistinguishable between the two but then I tell the other carpenters the price of these and they all huff and puff and say the other brand is just a waste of money. Other features I like is the 2 plastic feet which makes positioning the clamps on the job on you own incredibly easy also the little thumb screw end cap which I place right on the end of the bar and acts as a little protector, stopping you from bashing your head against the end of an over hanging bar which any carpenter will tell you is inevitable and suck every time you do it. I love these so much I am ordering 2 more packs of the 1200mm.

I have used these clamps on a number of jobs and have been most impressed. Definitely an upgrade from my old sash clamps. I was about to buy a couple of the 'other' red parallel jaw clamps and then Rutlands sent me one of their many emails. As they were offering a lifetime guarantee I thought I might as well try a pack of 4 and see how they go. They arrived the next day with a weary looking parcel force driver. On opening the box I was pleasantly pleased. The finish looked excellent and the jaws were as big as they looked on the website. I lifted one upright and shook the bar and there was no slipping of the jaw. I then clamped up an old frame that I made to the wrong size and I tightened the handle as much as I could. The force nearly broke the biscuit joint. I have used them now for just over a month and I will be buying more after Christmas. I don't really see the reason not to buy these as they do all I want. Great.
